Mary Jane Skalski

Mary Jane Skalski recently wrapped production on two projects: MYSTERIOUS SKIN with director Gregg Araki and CHAIN with director Jem Cohen. MYSTERIOUS SKIN was adapted by Araki from the acclaimed novel by Scott Heim and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Brady Corbet, Michelle Trachtenberg and Elisabeth Shue. CHAIN is a hybrid documentary-narrative feature that follows two women searching for their place in the world.

Skalski produced The Station Agent which was released on October 3 in the US by Miramax Films. Written and directed by Tom McCarthy, the film stars Patricia Clarkson, Peter Dinklage and Bobby Cannavale. The film premiered in the Dramatic Competition at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and received the Audience Award, the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award and a special acting award for Clarkson. Its European premiere was at the San Sebastian Film Festival where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize.

Upcoming projects include The Hawk is Dying with director Julian Goldberger, a film version of Shakespeare's MACBETH with director Todd Louiso and SARAH with director Steven Shainberg.

She has also produced Frank Whaley's The Jimmy Show which screened at the Toronto and Sundance Film Festivals, Paul Harrill's Gina an Actress Age 29, which was awarded the Grand Jury Prize in Short Film at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, Dear Doughboy, a tv pilot created by Hopwood Depree, Noah Baumbach's series of shorts Conrad and Butler, Bart Freundlich's The Myth of Fingerprints; John O'Hagan's Wonderland which received the Cable Ace Award for Best Documentary; Jim Fall's Trick (exec producer), David Schisgall's The Lifestyle (executive producer); Kutlug Ataman's Lola and Bilidikid (assoc producer), Jill Godmilow's Roy Cohn/Jack Smith (assoc producer) and Edward Burns' The Brothers McMullen(assoc producer).

Until 1999 Mary Jane was the VP, Creative Affairs for Good Machine. While at Good Machine, Mary Jane was intimately involved in a variety of projects including international sales of Clean, Shaven (directed by Lodge Kerrigan), River of Grass (directed by Kelly Reichardt), Breathing Room(directed by Jon Sherman), FLIRT (directed by Hal Hartley) and Pushing Hands, THE WEDDING BANQUET and EAT DRINK MAN WOMAN (all directed by Ang Lee). In addition, Mary Jane was the delivery coordinator on Walking and Talking (directed by Nicole Holofcener) and post production supervisor on Ang Lee's Eat Drink Man Woman.

Mary Jane is partnered with producer Jeffrey Levy-Hinte at Antidote Films. She is also the US scout for Fortissimo Film Sales and an assistant adjunct faculty member in Columbia University's Graduate Film Department. In 2003, Variety selected Mary Jane and Jeff as "Producers to Watch".
